Gallagher Bluegrass Bell Mahogany Amberburst
From Gallagher:
We are pleased to announce a new Gallagher model that is distinctly different from our previous offerings. The Bluegrass Bell harkens back to the prewar days of vintage guitars. We achieve that goal with forward shifted x-brace that was patterned after a 1937 D-18. We added torrefied Adirondack spruce top and bracing. In a departure from our headstock design, we incorporated our French curve with a square headstock.
• Mahogany back and sides
• Torrefied Adirondack spruce top
• Forward-shifted and scalloped X-brace
• Herringbone trim and rosette
• Tortoise shell bound body
• 1 ¾” neck, joined at the 14th fret, MoP dots
• Square headstock with G, French curve wood inlay with volute on back
• Open gear tuners
It is our opinion that Gallagher is indeed making some of the finest instruments today, and are proudly doing it in Murfreesboro Tennessee! This particular mahogany Bluegrass Bell encompasses many of the fine attributes of a vintage instrument, while adding modern and desirable features such as an adjustable truss rod, compensated saddle, satin finish neck, along with a torrefied top and bracing. The sound has attributes of the classic mahogany warmth, And you get a feeling of satisfaction when you play it, kind of like eating a big bowl of hot homemade soup on a cold day. The sound is very balanced, although it maintains a deep and resident bass response, with round trebles which indeed do ring like a bell. Single notes seemingly jump out of the guitar, making it a pleasurable experience for the right hand of flat pickers. These instruments seem to be in the end zone, that magical place where tone, balance, volume and comfort all come together, and you have a tool working with you, not against you. warn your neighbors that they are about to hear a great clang, and ring us up to capture the bountiful sound of this Bell
