Very few individuals understand the properties of wood as Robin Boucher does, and that is very evident when one picks up this BG-52-BG dreadnought. if you are unfamiliar with the coding system of Boucher Guitars, please allow us to enlighten you. The first BG stands for the Bluegrass Goose series of instruments. A short explanation from Boucher; “Guitars from our Bluegrass Goose series are crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. Our guitars offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The Bluegrass Goose guitar is as “present” as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing!

Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose.” The 52 is the designation for Boucher dreadnought instruments which use East Indian Rosewood for backs and sides. The final BG stands for burst, as we noticed this is a sunburst, with the last G standing for gold pack. all gold pack instruments feature a hand selected torrefied Adirondack spruce top, as well as Gotoh open gear tuning machines.

It is apparently obvious this guitar boast a desirable look about her, but dare we say the look, as beautiful as it is, is only secondary to the sound! Sweet trebles, a booming bass, and a mid range which is strikingly vintage sounding, is topped off with extreme headroom in this instrument. To practice brevity, it seems to do everything very well!

Specs include: torrefied Adirondack red spruce top, forward shifted scalloped X bracing, striking set of East Indian Rosewood back and sides, beautiful Sunburst, gloss finish on body, satin finish on neck, the body is bound with maple, the mahogany neck boasts a 1 3/4 nut width, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Gotoh open gear high precision tuning machines, and is housed in a Boucher branded TKL Tweed hard shell case. very proudly and exquisitely made in Canada!

The craftsmanship of this instrument is simply marvelous, the condition is excellent plus, and the tone, playability and volume are superb. given the lack of availability, and the possibility of looming tariffs, save yourself some dough Ray, and call me today, as this one won’t last.
