Martin D-18 Gruhn Sinker
It is a pleasure to present to you this D-18 Gruhn Sinker Mahogany from 2018. Tried and true, and often imitated, some say nothing beats a Martin, and when you play this one, you may agree with that assessment.
Our friend Mr. George Gruhn lists these specs:
Adirondack spruce top (non-VTS) with forward shifted scalloped bracing, Sinker Mahogany neck, neck block, back, sides and end block (old growth mahogany cut between 1880 and early 1920s in Belize, a quality no longer available on trees cut today), 1-3/4 inch nut width, Performing Artist neck contour, adjustable truss rod, bone nut and saddle, String Spacing at Saddle
2.153, Geib style HC
This guitar has not been modified in any way, and does not contain a strap button. It’s condition should be classified as great plus, as it shows no signs of abuse, and only a few marks from handling/playing, along with marks behind the nut/ on the edges of the headstock where a capo has been stored. we received this on trade, and while testing out the instrument I asked the owner if he was absolutely sure he wanted to trade it? this sinker just sounds that doggone good! while I have always commended C.F Martin on their instruments, anyone who has played more than a couple understands that not all of their guitars are created equal. this is one that is way up on the ladder of hierarchy in our opinion. The bass response is very strong, and the instrument just has a great depth of tone about it. nothing thin sounding happening when you strum this one! The volume is very substantial, and it is truly a banjo sinker. The frets are an excellent condition, and we would wrate their life to be 9.5 out of 10. Start sinking banjos to the bottom of the acoustical sea, and feel comfort and ease in the knowledge you are syncing your money into a wonderful guitar with this one!
